Over the last year, we’ve added many new members to our amazing community so I wanted to introduce us.

As most of you already know, my dad is the source of how we got started in the art world, but there’s much more to it.

Meet Scott Jacobs

My dad started his career as an art gallery owner at the age of 19.  He had been working as a framer for two years through high school when the owner put the gallery up for sale.  He made an offer that she surprisingly accepted which threw him into business ownership.

From there, his love for art snowballed into becoming an artist, getting licensed with Harley-Davidson in 1993, signing a contract with the world’s largest art gallery in 2004 and touring the world, then moving to Deadwood in 2016.

Read the story on his transition from gallery owner to artist in my blog, The Start of Scott’s Career.

Meet Sharon Jacobs

My mom and dad met in New Jersey in 1983 and got married in 1985 in Waterloo, Belgium.  Ever since they got together, she has been a part of the art gallery helping with framing and improving procedures and overall organization – you know, the feminine touch. 😉

As we’ve expanded, she’s continued managing our frame selections and thrived into interior design.  Whether it’s for their personal home or the historic buildings we’ve renovated, she transforms a space into a unique and welcoming spot for everyone to feel at home.

Olivia Jacobs-Chrisman

Now it’s my turn!  I’m Olivia, their first born.  I started working for the family business when I was about 15 by helping my mom with bookkeeping and traveling around for different motorcycle events.

Several years later, I decided to help get my dad’s art career on social media so more could appreciate his talent.  From there, I slowly started taking on more responsibility like content management, our website, newsletter, blog, and other operations.  If I’m not running the gallery or overseeing our new business, Jacobs Brewhouse, I am out in nature with my husband, Jared and camera.

Alexa Jacobs

Ever since elementary school, Alexa has been doodling and playing with her artistic talent.  She started working for the family business alongside me when she was 13.  We’d go to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and help man the art booths for a couple weeks during the summer.

Later, she began helping Scott as an under painter blocking in on his paintings.  She’d paint a couple hours here and there after school and then went full-time after high school.

In 2015, she ventured out on her own and started painting as Art by Lex.  Since then, her work has been collected by John Paul DeJoria of Paul Mitchell and former Patron owner.  She’s signed a contract with a tequila company as the artist designing their label.

The Family

We are a tightly-knit family that has learned to work together and enjoy it!  Weird, right?

I am thankful that we have each other but I am even more grateful we have a community that appreciates our relationship and the way we run our business.
