Jacobs Gallery Deadwood is Open!
We’re Open!
Now that we’ve been open a whopping ten days, I can fill you in on how we’re doing in Deadwood!
Our first official day being open was Fourth of July, but we decided to softly open our doors Saturday, the 2nd because we couldn’t contain our excitement any longer!
Our new Jacobs Gallery apparel, barware, and hats are finally out of their boxes and proudly being displayed in this beautiful building.
We made tables from the original floor joists that were removed to redo and make the floor flat again. These beautiful planks of wood date back to the 1870s! We also built rolling clothing racks from pallets I picked up at a local shipping business.
Not only do we have new products, but we also have seven of Scott’s most iconic originals from his career like “Caught in a Daydream“, “Panacea“, “Finishing Touch“, “In Your Dreams” and others.
Where else would you be able to see that many Jacobs originals in one place? Unless you’re a few of our collectors that have that many in their homes…
Some of the new products we’ve come up with are hand-poured candles by Craft+Foster. Melissa, the founder of the company used to live across the street from Jared and me, so we collaborated and came up with our own signature scent, Bridal Veil Falls which is inspired by a waterfall in Spearfish Canyon. It’s fresh and clean just like the beautiful Spring season here.
We cannot wait for Sturgis to kick off, but before that, we get to experience our first Days of 76 rodeo!
We will see ya’ll soon!
Greetings Jacobs Family from Oregon. Derek and I completed our 4500 mile motorcycle trip yesterday and were a little sorry that it was over. We sincerely appreciated your hospitality when we visited your studio and felt like old friends! We enjoyed meeting Travis and thank Scott for the invitation. Jared was a real hem but you already know that I’m sure. We appreciate what you’re doing with your business in South Dakota … well done! If we can ever return your kindness when you’re traveling in Oregon, we’d love to … Best wishes!
We appreciate you spending a good part of your day with us.
If we are heading back to Oregon, we will definitely give you a call!
Thanks for coming in!
I was in Jacobs gallery the week before Sturgis bike rally. As I looked around in amazement at the Photos a gentleman approached me and explained they are paintings! I continued to look at all the paintings around the gallery in total disbelief. Then the painting of the young man on a bicycle looking at his shadow on the wall came in to my site, I recalled as a child having baseball cards in my spokes. Then it was brought to my attention that the young man was seeing himself on a motorcycle. It brought tears to my eyes and everyone’s attention. I’ll never regret having those feelings and I will never forget the way your gallery made me feel! Thank you to everyone that works at Jacobs gallery, you are all such nice people! I hope that everyone that visits your gallery has an experience they will never forget !
Thank you, John! We are deeply moved that you felt so strongly about the painting and our gallery.
We hope to see you again!
