“This painting depicts the Indian AMA Champion, Jared Mees racing one of the original Wrecking Crew members, Bill Tuman.  Both racers have won the Grand National Championships five times, so I thought it was fitting to put them both in one painting.”

Description

AMA Indian Flat Track Champion, Jared Mees #1 and famous racer, Bill Tuman #51 debut in Scott’s newest Indian Flat Track painting.

Bill Tuman was a racer during the 40-50s.  He was the last single-day winner of the AMA Grand National Championship after his victory at the Springfield Mile in 1953.

Tuman was part of Indian Motorcycle’s famous racing team known as the “Indian Wrecking Crew”, a group of top racers in the late 1940s and early ’50s that included Bobby Hill, Ernie Beckman and Tuman.

Jared Mees #1, is currently a rider for Indian Motorcycles.  So far he has won the GNC1 title in 2012, 2014, and 2015, the Grand National Twins Championship in 2009, and the Grand National Singles Championship in 2012.

Both Tuman and Mees have won the AMA Grand Nationals FIVE times so Scott thought that it would be cool to include these Indian Champions in one painting.
