The Story Behind Olivia’s Photo:

“I was having a really difficult time with co-parenting in April 2025. To help get out of my head and away from the computer, I took my camera gear and drove through Spearfish Canyon, a local favorite and scenic byway.

I wasn’t even into the mouth of the canyon when I looked at the foggy slowly creeping between the pine trees. I quickly pulled off the road and held my camera as steady as I could from my 4Runner.

The most meaningful part of that moment was how quickly photography pulled me out of my sadness and back into searching for beauty in Mother Nature. In that quiet stillness, I felt hope that things were going to get better.”
