Capturing the heart of the Black Hills through the eyes of Buck and Traci Lovell.
For decades, Buck Lovell was a celebrated photographer and journalist in the American motorcycle world. Beginning in the 1970s, he immersed himself in photographing motorcycles and biker culture, quickly becoming a regular contributor to iconic publications like Easyriders, Iron Horse, and Hot Bike magazines. His passion and talent eventually led to his first editorial role with Hot Bike in the late 1980s.
In 2006, Buck and Traci moved to the Black Hills in South Dakota. A place that had captured their hearts during their first trip to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in 1990. Buck helped launch two new magazine titles for Maverick Publications: American Cycle and American Bagger.
Together, Buck and Traci often spent their free time exploring the region, capturing its breathtaking landscapes and wildlife through their lenses.
Following Buck’s passing in July 2023, Traci chose to continue sharing his work through Jacobs Gallery. More than just a collection of photographs, it is Buck’s legacy. A way to keep his spirit alive and to offer others a glimpse into the world he so passionately captured.
