Scott achieved a significant milestone in 1993 by becoming the first officially licensed Harley-Davidson artist. He is proud to maintain this license, along with several others he has obtained over the years, including Chevrolet, Ford, Mattel, Marilyn Monroe Estates, and Elvis Presley Enterprises. Despite initially starting his career in the art industry by purchasing an art gallery at the age of nineteen with savings from various odd jobs, Scott’s early artistic endeavors involved pen and ink illustrations for his school newspaper. By the age of twenty-one, he had built up both the funds and clientele to establish Reflections On Canvas in Westfield, NJ, a gallery that enjoyed considerable success.
In 2004, Scott and Sharon made the pivotal decision to establish their own publishing company, Scott Jacobs Studio. Reflecting on this decision, Scott remarked, “Becoming self-published was the best choice we ever made for our family and our art business.”
In 2016, they relocated their operations from California to open Jacobs Gallery in Deadwood, SD, showcasing original paintings and an extensive collection of vintage motorcycles. Scott’s artwork adorns various items, ranging from limited edition graphics to Franklin Mint Collector Plates, coffee mugs, beach towels, clocks, and more. In 2010, he published his second coffee table book, The Art of Scott Jacobs – The Complete Works, which features pieces dating back to the late 1980s.
